Azurfa Women and Youth Development Initiative (AWOYDI) is a women-led, community-based non-governmental organisation established in 2016. We are committed to empowering women and youth through education, skills development, agriculture, and advocacy for peace, health, and governance.

We envision a society where women and youth stand at the forefront of community development, promoting sustainable change through capacity building and inclusive participation.

Our Impact

Since its establishment in 2016, Azurfa Women and Youth Development Initiative (AWOYDI) has empowered thousands of women and youth across Nigeria through innovative programmes in education, health, agriculture, and peacebuilding.

From facilitating access to HPV vaccination for young girls, to training women in sustainable agriculture and digital literacy, Azurfa continues to build resilience and drive inclusive growth at the grassroots level.

Our Success Stories

Health Impact

Mobilised 3,600+ girls for HPV vaccination across Bauchi and Gombe states, supporting early prevention of cervical cancer.

Peacebuilding

Trained farmers and herders in conflict management and dialogue for peaceful coexistence in Kaduna and Bauchi States.

Education Support

Established counselling units in schools and enhanced over 800 pupils’ knowledge on peacebuilding and bullying prevention.

Agriculture & Livelihood

Supported rural women in agricultural practices and value-chain opportunities for food security and self-reliance.

Digital Empowerment

Introduced young women to digital skills and entrepreneurship through community-based workshops and mentorship programmes.
